In a typical four-man pod, it gets very expensive to keep her flickered out and safe for just one go around the table. Flickerform is fun when you have ] or ] also attached to her, but otherwise I found the 2WW activation cost to be pretty clunky without ] also attached to her. So there's never a point where the ever actually leave her. Unless phasing rules have changed since I last checked, Bruna would phase out with Auras attached to her and then phase back in with them still attached. Also a great way of making my opponents use resources since they'd have to basically have to destroy Bruna twice in a single turn to get rid of her "for good". Both are equally useless against bounce, tuck, and exile removal, but Gift has an advantage of working on both destruction and Edict removal. ] effectively fulfills the same role as Shielded by Faith IMO. I'm also thinking about adding some more fast mana like ] and ]. I feel like I might want to bump it back up to maybe 9-10 rocks. I'm considering tweaking my mana rock package. From there, the remaining Auras in the deck are defensive and utility. Any combination of ], ], or ] make her lethal in one swing. Usually by protecting her with cheap, mana efficient countermagic or limiting answers from your opponents with the various hate cards in the deck.

And honestly, I could probably cut a couple more from the 8 Auras I currently have. The deck has trimmed down on the Auras in favor of slotting in more card draw, card selection, and tutors instead. The deck is capable of having explosive starts but generally I play safely and conservatively and use Bruna as a finisher. I removed cards like ] and ] because I've found that I would much rather hate out opponents than merely slow them down. With some guidance from r/cEDH, this started as a Stax build but I've gradually shifted it more towards Hatebears and hard Control after playtesting. I'm open to any and all card suggestions. They had a 4th sister but we have not discovered her name or origin yet or what has happened to her. She is part of the 4 angel sisters of Innistrad. brumstane brumstone bruna brunch brune brunella brunellia brunelliaceae. We love pilfering and abusing graveyards. Bruna, Light of alabaster was introduced to us in Avacyn restored. alabamine alabandite alabarch alabaster alabastos alabastrian alabastrine. Combo decks have started being more common. but Bruna You've got what amounts to a 5/5 flier. Sigarda is almost impossible to kill, and if Gisela survives to attack, the game is basically wrapped up. We have an overwhelming amount of U/G/X value decks. It's comical how bad she is in draft compared to the other two of the cycle. We have a very small handful of truly high-powered competitive decks, but I would say we lean more towards the casual side of the 75% fence. Her new card is sometimes used as a commander and has the Brusela meld combo in the deck otherwise it's used as a way to reanimater an anger or human in other decks. The average power level of decks in my meta falls around 75% probably. The top auras in a bruna, light of alabaster deck are:Īnd any aura that gives her unlockable, hexproof/shroud, protection from a color or creatures. Her being able to get auras from the battlefield your hand and your graveyard make your auras, (which usually are considered 2 for 1 because when your creatures with an aura does the aura also dies) more useful and can be recurred and cheated out for free. She needs to be watched because she can kill out of nowhere. Her ability is very powerful if you build around her well. She is what you would call a voltron commander. Here new card bruna, the fading light sees some fringe play in the current standard meta but usually as a sideboard thing.Įdh where she shines. I think it is because if here I love enchantment decks a lot. Of course me being inexperienced, I lost badly but I did get to cast her and swung with her once. I was only 3 months into playing magic when I first got her and I tried her in standard.

Her first printing has not seen much if any play in either standard or modern. She manages to kill Brusela with the help of Saint Traft. As this reveal was part of Thalia's story.
